Job Title: Program Officer
To assist in the program development, management and oversight of special projects and programs of the Guam Preservation Trust.
Planning
- Assist in the planning and development of policies for the Trust;
- Assist in the process for all projects/programs;
- Other related duties as needed to ensure effective planning for all areas of the Trust.
Programs
- Assist in the management of the Trust’s grant programs;
- Participate in reviewing grant proposals for recommendation(s) to the Trust’s Grants Committee;
- Monitors grantee budget and program progress;
- Reviews grantee reports and make recommendations to the Senior Program Officer as necessary;
- Works with the Senior Program Officer to develop and submit grant proposals to fund the Trust’s programs and projects;
- Other related duties as needed to ensure program effectiveness.
Community Outreach
- Develops and implements outreach strategies to promote the Trust’s programs and projects;
- Develops and revises program publications, including the Trust’s website, as necessary;
- Identifies other promotional opportunities and engages in other promotional outreach efforts as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred;
- Experience in the area of historic preservation
- Experience in a professional environment, including program management;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Excellent computer skills including word processing, spread sheets, and databases;
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and
- Ability to organize and process large volumes of work under tight deadlines.
Decision making: Uses judgment and discretion in assessing and scheduling work priorities; able to operate independently and structure own work.
Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Senior Program Officer.
Internal/External Contacts: Internal contacts as staff level with Chief Program Officer, Office Manager & Financial Service Coordinator, Senior Development Officer, Senior Program Officer, Program Officers, Administrative Assistant, contract employees, volunteers & interns, and GPT Board Members, External contacts include Historic Resource Division, Department of Parks and Recreation and other stakeholders.
